Daybreakers
What would January be without a crappy horror flick that's been gathering dust for a few years, and finally dumped into theaters? Seems vampires have taken over and humans are farmed for food, and there's a resistance movement and lots of social satire, and too many characters and way too many tangents and storylines, but still, its quite fun in its way.

The Bridge
This documentary about suicides off the Golden Gate Bridge contains footage of REAL suicides. Great, just what we need to see! It's involving while it's going on, even as one is aware of how it is padded out with empty atmospherics, but only afterwards do you start to think about all the information and insight it COULD have offered if it cared to.

Best of 2009: Video and Movies
Here we are, the CdM take on the best movie experiences of the year, whether at the theater or on video. As usual, we'll concentrate on whether it's enjoyable, and leave the crucial social analysis and geo-political hoo-ha to those who care.

Color of Night
Bruce Willis is a psychologist dealing with a hot new lady-love, a murdered best friend, a group full o' loonies, and a serial killer in this flagrantly horrid erotic thriller, described by some as "The Mommie Dearest of the 90s."
